Some Prints from this Semester

This semester, I took a printmaking class and ended up really liking it. We covered the basic techniques (monoprint and collograph, drypoint, and linocut). We usually were assigned the task to create an unique series of three. Here are some examples of what I created this semester.

Our first assignment was to create abstract compositions based on music that was played for us. For this assignment we used the monotyping technique.

Our next assignment was using the drypoint technique. We created compositions using nature. I’ve included some details of these images.

Our final assignment was to create a political poster. Mine focused on the overdevelopment of land and how it affects the animals that live there. This was created using linocut. The first was done on the printing press and the second was hand printed.
